Inuspheresis® as a therapy option
The therapeutic mode of action of Inuspheresis® is based on the principle of relief. Disease- and inflammation-promoting substances are washed out of the blood.
Inuspheresis® also reduces inflammatory mediators such as CRP or TNF-alpha.
Unlike conventional therapies, Inuspheresis® therefore does not rely on the use of "anti" agents but on the targeted filtering and removal of disease-promoting factors.

State-of-the-art technology in Inuspheresis®
Inuspheresis® is a milestone in innovative high-tech medicine.
Apheresis is a method in which specific components are precisely removed from the blood outside the body using special equipment.
Own blood components that have not been eliminated are returned to the patient’s bloodstream.
With Inuspheresis®, as a highly differentiated multi-component apharesis, the plasma is first separated from other blood components in the INUS separator.
The contaminants are then specifically separated from the plasma in further filtrations and separated into an eluate that can later be further analyzed for diagnostic purposes.
After being combined with the retained blood components, the purified plasma is returned to the body as purified whole blood.
Inuspheresis® includes various types of removal of harmful substances from the blood outside the body using DFPP (double membrane filtration plasmapheresis). It is in no way to be equated with dialysis!
The "intelligent membrane" does not simply remove urinary substances, but a variety of harmful problematic substances (malformed autoimmune antibodies, inflammatory mediators, toxic substances bound to proteins or fats, etc.).

From apheresis to Inuspheresis®
The term apheresis is derived from the Greek word for "taking away.
As early as the beginning of the 20th century, the first plasmaphereses were carried out on animals for research purposes, where blood was taken and the washed erythrocytes reintroduced.
Against the background of Minamata disease (chronic mercury poisoning), which first appeared in the mid-1950s in the Japanese city of Minamata, the first therapeutic approaches based on blood purification were developed.
Modern cascade filtration (or double filtration, membrane differential filtration) was first described in Japan in 1980 by Y. Agishi et al.
Apheresis methods have been continuously developed and are an established treatment for genetic lipid disorders (familial disorder of lipid metabolism, lipids/cholesterol), for example.
Inuspheresis®, developed in Germany by the INUS Group, led by a proven specialist, Dr. Richard Straube, is a major innovation.
On the basis of extensive experience with therapeutic apheresis, it has been possible to rediscover and analyze a wide range of possible applications for this procedure in recent years and thus develop new treatment approaches for chronic diseases today.
