Environmental pollution

Environmental medicine

Ayus is concerned with environmental medicine, the effects of our environment on our health. In our modern world, we are exposed to numerous toxins and pollutants on a daily basis. These come from various sources, such as car exhaust fumes, pesticides in food, plasticizers in everyday products, benzenes from industrial exhaust fumes and solvents in household cleaners. Even heavy metals and toxins in dental fillings or cosmetics contribute to the burden.

Natural detoxification

Our body is constantly working to process and eliminate these toxins and is generally quite efficient at doing so. However, health problems can also occur here if the load is too high and due to the individual's ability to detoxify. This is another reason why it is important for us all to develop an awareness of these environmental factors and understand how they can affect our health.

Chemicals and heavy metals

Effects on our body

Pesticides such as lindane, PCP, HCB:

Although the use of some of these chemicals is restricted or banned in many countries, they persist in the environment and can enter the human organism via the food chain. They can cause neurological symptoms and endocrine disruption 20.

Plasticizers and PCBs:

These chemicals are found in a variety of products, from plastic packaging to cosmetics. These chemicals are endocrine disruptors that affect the endocrine system 20.

Benzenes and solvents such as trimethylbenzene, toluene, xylene, dichloromethane:

These volatile organic compounds can be neurotoxic and are often present in industrial environments, paints and adhesives.

Heavy metals and metals:

Cobalt and nickel, for example, can cause allergic reactions. Mercury, often used in dental fillings, and aluminum, found in some deodorants and cosmetics, can cause neurological disorders and autoimmune reactions 21.

The connection between people and the environment

Our health is inextricably linked to the environment. The industrialized world leaves its mark, among other things in the form of toxins that we absorb every day. At Ayus, we are aware of the burden of environmental toxins and their influence on our well-being and are committed to identifying and reducing this burden. Addressing the sub-health syndrome plays an important role in preventing the gradual development of chronic diseases.

Back to balance

By means of precise laboratory chemical analyses, we identify the individual toxin load and, together with you, derive tailor-made therapy concepts.

Our aim is to eliminate accumulated toxins, restore the body's self-regulation, strengthen the immune system and thus bring the body back into balance.

Ayus Basel

Center for Environmental Medicine

In our environmental medicine practice, located in the heart of Basel on Aeschengraben, we combine state-of-the-art technologies with traditional healing knowledge in our integrative approach.

Our focus here is on the treatment of chronic time-related illnesses, but also on sub-health syndrome, a condition between health and illness that is increasingly caused by modern living conditions.

A wide range of therapeutic approaches
for your health

We offer a wide range of therapies, including redox regulation therapy, which aims to restore the balance of free radicals in the body, which is particularly important when dealing with sub-health syndrome. This is supplemented by orthomolecular therapy methods and infusion therapies, comprehensive intestinal analyses and intestinal cleansing.

Of particular note is INUSpheresis®, one of our core competencies, which we use as part of a holistic approach. This method is crucial to support the effective removal of environmental toxins and thus promote a profound reorganization of the organism.
