Preliminary consultation with detailed medical history and blood test
Before INUSpheresis® therapy, patients and their blood are thoroughly examined to rule out acute illnesses. When clarifying the patient's medical history (anamnesis), particular attention is paid to ensuring that there are no acute illnesses such as gastrointestinal flu, allergies, convulsive disorders, cardiovascular diseases, bleeding tendencies or infections and that the patient's own blood components are sufficient.
During the medical consultation, patients are informed in detail about the therapy procedure, the mechanism of action, the filters used and the expected effects, as well as possible side effects. If the patient is taking coagulation-promoting medication, we ask for early consultation in order to adjust the therapy.
You and your blood will be thoroughly examined to rule out acute illness.

INUSpheresis® takes place on an outpatient basis in our practice and lasts about 2 to 3 hours. During the procedure, you lie relaxed on a couch.
You will have an access inserted into both crooks of your arms to drain and supply the blood so that it can be purified outside your body using our highly specialized filtration system.
First, the primary filter separates your blood plasma from the blood cells. Then the blood plasma is passed through the secondary filter, which has been adapted to your treatment goals, and pathogenic substances are filtered out. What is filtered out of the blood plasma depends on the filter, its pore size and the combination with other filters.
The blood plasma purified in this way is remixed with the previously separated blood cells and returned to your bloodstream.
Many patients feel the positive effects shortly after the therapy.
If desired, the effectiveness of the cleaning can be proven by an analysis of the so-called filter eluate.
On the day of collection and for 24 hours afterwards, we recommend that you refrain from driving or cycling.

Chemical and biochemical analyses
The substances filtered out are examined in detail in the INUS Laboratories. Comprehensive chemical and biochemical analyses are used to identify a wide range of environmental toxins. INUSpheresis® is not a plasma exchange and does not lead to any significant loss of electrolytes and functioning immunoglobulins.
Blood washing is basically a procedure in which substances can be removed from the plasma. INUSpheresis® is not to be confused with dialysis, in which only the urinary substances are filtered. INUSpheresis® is a therapeutic blood wash and is characterized by its sophisticated filters and double filtration.
There are room dividers between the individual treatment areas on our premises, which ensures a private atmosphere. This means you can relax during therapy and always have direct supervision.
