David Andel: expert in innovative medicine
As a doctor, neuroscientist and IT architect, David Andel brings an extraordinarily broad range of expertise to the Ayus Center Basel. After studying medicine in Basel and Prague and completing postgraduate studies in neurobiology, mathematics and computer science, he devoted himself to brain research and artificial intelligence (AI), experimental psychopathology and psychiatry, and later to the management and development of complex IT infrastructures.
He is passionate about holistic solutions - always with a view to integrating modern technologies into evidence-based medical and therapeutic concepts.
At Ayus, in addition to his medical work, he manages the IT infrastructure and develops AI-based systems that will support the medical staff in Basel and in our partner clinics worldwide in their work and thus improve the treatment of our patients.

I see enormous opportunities in the combination of medicine and IT to further develop diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive processes.
Digital systems offer the opportunity to better understand complex relationships in the human body and its environment - and to use this knowledge directly for the benefit of patients.
Innovative technology can help to make treatments more individual and effective and to implement new, integrative therapy concepts in practice.
