They often arise subliminally and over a long period of time, often as a result of a malfunction or overreaction of the organism; chronic inflammations have become an epidemic of modern life in our industrial society.

Acute becomes chronic, chronic in turn often includes acute relapses
The healthy immune reaction of the body is called pathologically chronic when it turns into a permanently stressful condition.
Often, no clearly determinable starting point and no unambiguous trigger can be established. Chronic inflammations develop slowly and insidiously.
They persist over long periods of time, in the worst case until the end of life, and are often not treated causally by standard medicine. But only symptomatically. In addition, chronic diseases such as multiple sclerosis (MS) can also have acute disease flare-ups.

Defect healing is insufficient healing
Chronic inflammatory processes lead to excessive reactions and incomplete healing (Lat. reparatio) of tissue damage. Complete healing (Lat. restitutio ad integrum) does not occur. In medical jargon, this is called "restitutio cum defectu", i.e. a defective healing.
While acute inflammations often focus on systemic symptoms such as fever, fatigue, and fat and muscle loss, chronic inflammations cause oxidative stress and disturbed immune responses (often as over- or misreactions).
Causes and symptoms of acute as well as chronic inflammations can also influence each other reciprocally and in different phases of the disease.
The extent to which an inflammation remains locally limited or develops into a systemic problem (i.e. affecting the entire organism), and whether it also becomes chronic over time, depends not only on the trigger and the degree of damage.
Each person is unique and has a subjectively distinct immune system. Stimulus-response patterns are not initiated the same for everyone, so trigger damage and response chains vary for each individual. Everyone has their own genetic tendency to inflammation; in some, it is stronger, and in some weaker.
Chronic inflammations often arise subliminally and over a longer period of time, often as a result of an incorrect or overreaction of the organism.
With INUSpheresis® therapy, chronic inflammations can be positively influenced.

Environmental toxins as a cause of chronic inflammation
We live in a modern industrial society that would be inconceivable without the presence of chemical substances.
These have only appeared in the recent history of mankind (on an evolutionary scale, suddenly).
More and more are being introduced. Without them, efficient production processes can no longer be realized, and they enable our modern logistics and warehouse chains. We are surrounded by an unmanageable mix of environmental toxins; in our food, in personal care and cosmetic use, or in textiles, just to name a few examples.
Depending on the individual ability to eliminate these toxins naturally, more or less of these chemical substances accumulate in our body.
Connective and fatty tissue, the nervous system, and our organs, including the eyes, the prostate, and the female breast are affected. Pancreas, thyroid, kidneys, and adrenal glands are affected.
In addition, there is the burden of hormones and antibiotics, microplastics, and heavy metals, as well as drug residues in tap water.

Chronic inflammation can also proceed silently
This unpredictable mix of critical substances and toxins can, in its entirety, lead subliminally and initially unnoticed to "silent inflammation", a chronic but subclinical, i.e. only mildly progressing or, in a figurative sense, silent (clinically undetectable or difficult to detect) chronic inflammation, which can pave the way for a whole range of diseases or drive and intensify chronic diseases.
